About MedEspera

The 6th edition of MedEspera – 2016 can be proud of its 850 participants, of which 147 were international, with 18 prizes within 9 sections and 3 teams mentioned in the SimOlympic contest. The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Nicolae Testemitanu" hosted the event organized by the Association of Students and Residents in Medicine 12-14 May.

“There have been three days of intense work, creativity, emotion, inspiration exchange between students and professors all over the world” President Gheorghe Rojnoveanu, vice-rector of the University's scientific paper, mentioned at the closing ceremony. “We are convinced that meetings and discussions in scientific sections, the exchange of ideas and experience between different medical schools will open new horizons and opportunities for future physicians and scientists - tomorrow's exchange” added pro-rector, thanking everyone for their participation.

Marcel Abraş, Vice-Rector for Education and Social Affairs, addressed his message particularly to the international participants: "We hope this Congress was a good opportunity to develop collaborative relationships between students, student organizations and universities." At the same time, the pro-rector expressed his hope toward hosting even a larger amount of people during the next edition.

According to the internal medicine professor Minodora Mazur, each congress involves three aspects: presentation of scientific results, transmission of new ideas and making decisions, and MedEspera covers them all; "What do we know for sure is that MedEspera shall go on!" Minodora Mazur concluded.

With pleasing impressions and beautiful memories, young people from abroad, MedEspera 2016 participants who have shared their experiences, were pleased to thank USMF students for their hospitality and friendly attitude.

The President of the Lithuanian Students Association appreciated the ASRM team: "We are fascinated by the quality of the Congress and the good organization of the activities, including the social ones."

Alexandra Summeva from St Petersburg, impressed by the event, said: "We are grateful to the administration and the organizers for this occasion. We met young people from Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Romania, Moldova - it was a great experience and we hope to keep the established friendships for a long time. "

Nicholas Keller from Germany tried to relax the atmosphere and said he enjoyed "insomnia" - which is a good indicator of the quality of Congress. "I was deeply impressed by your scientific results, which I know are so hard to achieve” added Nicholas, who has visited Chisinau for two times already and was eager to reach MedEspera 2016.

Chisinau, a city with undisputed character, ambience, and beauty, played host in 2018 to the prestigious International Medical Congress for Students and Young Doctors, the 7th edition of MedEspera organized by the Association of Students and Residents in Medicine from the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Nicolae Testemitanu" 3-5 May for which we are happy to provide a comprehensive review, leaving nothing to be desired. The meeting welcomed 831 participants from 16 countries to join the discussion about the future of medicine with a focus on translating science into better patient care. The heavily influential meeting harnesses the power to change the way healthcare professionals apply their expertise in clinical practice.

The 7th edition of MedEspera received 397 abstracts from: surgery section, internal medicine, fundamental sciences, pharmacy section, ethics section , clinical cases, dental medicine section, public health which were presented to delegates who attended the meeting. The abstracts summaries are explorations of some of the hottest topics in the fields of the entire medicine.

We had the pleasure of attending keynotes led by internationally renowned specialists as Cristoph Lange from Germany, Martin Coath from UK, Stephen Mackler from USA and Ben Thomas from Canada, Viorica Chelban from UK, Olga Cirstea from Republic of Moldova and Lenuta Porfire from Romania. The arsenal of outstanding abstracts and keynotes presented at this year’s Congress were respectfully represented to both active and pasive participants.

The 7th International Medical Congress for Students and Young Doctors 2018 was undoubtedly the most relevant and influential meeting in medicine care to happen, and provided an important platform for breakthrough science and discovery in the field. The initiatives taken at MedEspera 2018 will continue to build throughout years, and the discussion will inevitably recommence at the next 8th MedEspera 2020 congress in Chisinau.
